What are the requirements to export or tranship animal feed?

Businesses that want to export or tranship animal feed must have a Cargo Clearance Permit (CCP) issued by Singapore Customs for each consignment, which incorporates SFA’s requirements. The CCP is equivalent to a SFA export or transhipment permit granted by SFA. You may refer to the Export Procedures for exporting goods.

To import, export, or tranship animal feed, you need to fulfil some general requirements. For instance, registration with ACRA is mandatory, and your UEN must be activated with Customs.

In addition, if the animal feed that you intend to export/tranship is regulated by SFA, you must set up a GIRO arrangement with SFA.

For more details, see Requirements for Licence / Permit / Registration for Import / Export.

Animal feed that is manufactured or processed locally must be manufactured or processed by a SFA-approved establishment holding a valid Licence to Manufacture and Process Animal Feed from SFA.

For more details, refer to Requirements for Licence / Registration for Food Manufacture & Storage.

Countries/regions importing your animal feed may impose import requirements (e.g. importer’s registration and labelling). Ensure that your animal feed complies with these requirements to avoid delays, detention of your animal feed, and other complications.

Check with your customer i.e. the party importing your animal feed on the import requirements. You can also check with the Competent Authority of the destination country/region.
